Compliance
Student safety is in the best interest of both your institution and ours. We follow leading practices to ensure maximum security.
Message Sender is in accordance with student safety laws including The Jeanne Clery Act for campus safety.
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or Clery Act requires all colleges and universities to keep and disclose information about crime on and near their respective campuses. Compliance is monitored by the United States Department of Education, which can impose civil penalties, up to $27,500 per violation, against institutions for each infraction and can suspend institutions from participating in federal student financial aid programs.
Under the Clery Act, your institution is required to immediately notify the campus community upon confirmation of significant emergency or dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to the health and safety of the students or employees on campus.
Managing emergency situations on campus
Let's say campus officials determine that there is a need to alert an entire campus to an immediate threat. With access to a fully integrated alert system like MessageSender, school administration has the ability to tap into several communication trees that branch out through the campus. Protocols call for notifying not only students and staff, but also campus law enforcement or other officials such as information technology managers, crisis management teams, public safety personnel, health care agencies and others. Message Sender can help link people through multiple means of communication. School officials can easily carry out a crisis management strategy for a quick and accurate response.
